When someone is in pain, a person coming along to listen and “share the burden” of the pain can be really helpful for the one suffering. To help with the pain, focussing on better days can also be useful to not focus on the pain.
The hope in Jesus surpasses all. It is an assured future of hope that is no longer about us, it’s about God.
In pain of bereavement, words cannot go very far in helping the one suffering, the reality of lost means “hope” is future and remains future until such time bereavement begins to wane. The hope in Jesus surpassess all, that in death, through death, and for those suffering from the pain of bereaveent, it means there is meaning pass that period of having lost someone we loved.
