I recently bought a pair of shoes online. It was a highly risky purchase because I had not used this online outlet before. Whether a pair of shoes fit me is a concern of physiological, psychological and social proportion. To walk around with a pair that is too large or too small for my feet is not a good thing, which would mean I would have to return it; to exchange it for another size would be equally traumatic as it’s an uncertainty onto another layer of uncertainty.

The thing is, that the shoes is not my main purchase. I wanted to add it to my online order so I qualify for “free” postage of several items. It turned out that the shoes did fit me.
