Seek God

We can spend much of our life thinking we are on the right track, pursueing something, taking care of the young ones and those in need, but yet we are actually quite “lost”. That might mean we are comfortable or content, but we are heading the wrong way.

While crossing the road, I noticed someone on the other side of the road, about the cross the road coming to my direction, but he hesitated in crossing. He didn’t cross. He was looking up to the buildings, perhaps the road signs, and appeared a little … well, he didn’t look lost, but I thought in any case, I might be able to assist whatever kinds of questions he might have, if he did have any.

PicIt turned out that he knew where he was going, and in fact he was heading the right direction, but he wanted to get on a bus to travel to the destination. It turned out, too, that I knew the area a little ok, so I offered an idea. He came back to say to take bus – whatever the bus service number. And I confirmed back to him that’s the one to take. He was happy that his information is confirmed, but he missed a little bit of detail, which made a lot of difference, because that bus would not come this way, he would have to go back about 5 minutes walk, to get the bus.

We can be so sure we are not lost, and respond to people “don’t tell me what to do.” As we approach God in our daily routines, and come to worship on Sunday, on midweek gathering, or some other programmes, we are open to God – to correct, to confirm, what we are doing or have in our thoughts.
