Seek God

It’s a tremendous struggle that many of us face – the human organisation that is church; more specifically, how we manage relationships within church, where none of us sets the rules or ways of doing things, but it is God himself.

PicOne of the many things surrounding this issue is that many of us could not or would not settle in a church with the view of taking some active part, or with the view of arising opportunities to do so. We are at this cross road of wanting to exercise our faith in this place, from this place that is church, but we at the same time do not want to go as far as “agreeing” with the aims and missions – or “wishes” – of this church, and / or its leaders.

Should we take a step back, or sideways, if we don’t server God from this place, then perhaps we should discover another congregation or church or fellowship that more enables us to do so. In some cases, that does not happen, because we don’t go so far as looking for another one. One outcome of this is that faith and action disconnect. Is this church so problematic that a member prefers not to take any part, but no so problematic as to leave it altogether? What should the church do o address this?
