Cakes are no good. They are full of sugar, and they bear a much higher degree of attraction that easily negates their sugar content.
One of my friends, due to his medical condition, requires very high level of sugar in his body. This he maintains by having regular intake of sugary drinks. He is in fact very slim.
Maybe cakes, the sugar in them, do not affect the health of many people. However, it’s far better to take precaution than to discover years later the effect of high level of sugar, at which point it might be too late to reverse the outcome.
The range of cakes available is not declining, some have low sugar content. It’s not about “Thou shalt not have cake”, rather, for some, it could be having it sparingly, or at special occasion. There is light at the end of the tunnel – DIY cakes and we can have DIY level of sugar in them!
