Being one with God. This was probably what Moses came closest to when he met with God; and through Moses, we have the Ten Commandments.
Music discipleship is a journey. It’s about being one with God: we know his heart and we could then lead others to worship him.
We might not be “perfect” or have acquired a certain high standard in our music worship. It needs to be leading people to worship God – that’s the main thing, rather than how polished your music is.
Being one with God is a discipline where we are faithful to God first. We are then faithful to our music ministry, and other ministries and activities. Being called to regularly do or be something is a great task in itself.
Here are some ideas:
As we:
Consider:
Provide rhythm for a hymn with long 6 verses –
Creativity in variation and silence
Arrive for rehearsal –
Warming up together, get ready music stands and other essential items for everyone
Find some notes or passages are difficult to play or sing –
Additional practice at home or with others, using recording. Another idea is perhaps swapping parts with others so not to play any difficult sections so many times.
Face personal issues which affect your worship but you really want to be in God’s presence with your sacrifice of music –
God has accepted your sacrifice in music and he has blessed you with worship that’s special to him. Share it with him and others.
