In expressing love to another person, our intention might slightly “misalign” with what the other person expect. Misunderstanding might happen. When we are close with someone, it can be very difficult to tell whether we have done too little, or overstep expectation.
For example, it might be our gift to fetch someone from work place and we enjoy doing that; the other person however might feel it’s more meaningful that we accompany them on the journey out, then back.
Saying goodbye can be such a drastic experience. I wondered if my family member preferred I was near enough but not physically present when they breathed their last. The love us so much unbearable it was better to depart when they were approaching but before they arrived. The love scars our emotion more if we are all present and their body could no longer sustain life, but they also wished not to depart.
