Hope: that pain will go away.
Hope: that there is more time to spend together.
Hope: that lives shared in enjoyment, which gives a lot of positivity.
Somewhere there is a “misstep”. “Free from pain” is taken as a precondition for a good life, even as an evidence for such a good life. It might be a theological error on our part, an error of understanding of holiness, of fruit of the spirit.
But such making of that error is human, not that we shall linger in that error, but we should not beat ourselves up when we struggle being in that condition. It confirms our fragility, body mind and spirit. We need God.
